URBAN SPACE IN THE ХХІ CENTURY. THE ISSUES OF SCALE AND CHOICE

Abstract

Having analysed some formative changes of the post-industrial society and practical experience of managing the urban development of a large city, we made an attempt to formulate the strategic principles for the effective definition of the optimal density of urban development in the long-term perspective (until the mid-twenty first century).
