Biography

Studied architecture at the Lviv Polytechnic National University and the Moscow Architectural Institute and received diploma from Kyiv Architectural University ("National Identity in the Architecture of Public Spaces of Capital Cities").

  • Since 1995, a Full Professor and a Dean of the Faculty of Architecture at the Lviv Polytechnic National Universityю
  • Since 2001, the director of the Department of Architecture.
  • Since 2011, a Professor of Urban Design at the Kraków Agricultural University.
  • Visiting Professor at Darmstadt Technical University, Germany (2000), Vienna Technical University, Austria (since 2001), Kraków Economic University, Poland (2018).
  • Member of the German Academy of Urban and Regional Planning (DASL), the Saxon Academy of Fine Arts (SAdK), and the Ukrainian Academy of Architecture.
  • Honored Architect of Ukraine (2013).

 

Founder and editor-in-chief of the scientific journal "Architectural Studies" (Lviv Polytechnic National University).
Main research areas: identity in architecture and urban planning, urban models, history, and theory of the city.
Over 150 scientific publications (including SCOPUS) in Austria, Germany, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Poland, Switzerland, the United States, and Ukraine.
